The communal
violence in Rakhine State has drawn the attention
of the international
community, including the countries of the Middle East,
as media outside of
Myanmar has exposed the plight of Rohingya
Muslims in the north of the state
near Bangladesh. The violence subsequently
became an anti-Muslim campaign that
received condemnation
from governments around the world.
