Despite recent
reforms, Burma was again listed as one of the most corrupt countries
in the
world in a survey by Transparency International (TI) on Wednesday,
which ranked
it as the 5th-worst country in terms of public sector corruption
among 176
nations. TI said reforms had not improved Burma’s ranking,
as new
anti-corruption measures remain tentative and their impact
has yet to show up
in its research.
