Burmese President Thein Sein, in early April, met
with the Karen National Union
in Naypyitaw, where he delivered a wide ranging,
informal talk, mentioning
his Karen roots. He also discussed ethnic armed
groups, economic development,
agriculture, developing an industrial base,
foreign policy and national reconciliation.
