Rangoon Factory Hunger Strike Enters Third Day

Forty-five steelworkers have continued their hunger strike for 
a third day at Yangon Crown Steel Factory in Myauntakar 
Industrial Zone in Rangoon’s Hmawbi Township as representatives 
of the workers entered into talks on Monday with the factory 
manager and Director General of the Worker Supervisory 
Office Win Shein.

Japan, Myanmar open trade talks

Yangon: Japan has opened negotiations with Myanmar on an 
investment agreement, the trade ministry said.
"Since many Japanese private companies are trying to do business 
with Burma (Myanmar), we want to reach the agreement 
as soon as possible," Mizzima News quoted an official as saying.

has launched a “third-party inspection in order to dispel Myanmar 
people’s doubts” regarding the controversial Myitsone dam project ,
