Teenager seeks protection after deserting army

A teenager, who was forcibly recruited by the military four years ago, 
is seeking protection from the International Labour Organisation’s liaison 
office in Rangoon after deserting the army.

Muslims Allowed Free Travel in Maungdaw

Muslims living in Maungdaw Township in western Burma’s Arakan State have 
been allowed to travel freely within their own township without prior 
approval starting from 21 April.

Villagers, who were forcibly relocated to make way for the Myitsone dam, 
received a surprise visit last month from the head of the Chinese firm 
behind the project, in an attempt to convince the villagers to support
