Kachin woman shot by government soldiers

A civilian from the Kachin ethnic group was shot and killed while working 
on her farm last week.
Zung Lwi, was with her husband and their 3 children near Ginsi village 
when government troops opened fire. Her husband Galau Ying Bawm
 and their children managed to escape unscathed. The family has sought
 refuge at a church near Lawng Hkang, according to relatives.

GE soldiers attacked and their vehicle burned down on Arakanese border

A group of soldiers of the Burmese army’s general engineering unit known
 as GE that is constructing a fence along the border in Maungdaw in northwestern
 Arakan State was attacked and their vehicle burned down allegedly by an armed group.

UWSA says it will host Kachin peace talks

The Kachin Independence Organization (KIO) on Tuesday accepted an offer 
by the United Wa State Army (UWSA) to host peace talks
 with the Burmese government’s Union-level Peacemaking Committee, 
UWSA spokesman Aung Myint said, adding that the Wa group would mediate
 the negotiations and had suggested holding a meeting in Panghsang in northern Shan State.
