Rakhine State death toll continues to rise

The death toll in Rakhine State has risen to at least 56 people dead and thousands 
of homes destroyed by fire as reports of new violence come in between Rohingya 
Muslims and Rakhine Buddhists that erupted on Sunday, a state official said on Thursday.

in New York on Thursday, Tomás Ojea Quintana, the Special Rapporteur 
for human rights in Burma called on Thein Sein's government to grant 
the UN and its agencies unimpeded access to all areas of Burma including 
parts of Kachin State not controlled by the government.
