UN demands access to displaced in conflict zones

The UN’s
humanitarian chief has called on Burma to stop blocking aid to thousands
of
people displaced by conflict with northern ethnic rebels, raising concerns
over
welfare as winter draws in.

Affairs and Emergency Relief, told the UN News Centre
that conditions for
thousands of displaced Rohingya IDPs camps in western
Burma are “dire” and
called on the government to do something about it.
Amos released a statement
after visiting camps in Arakan State on Dec.5.

site at the Shwe Gas Project on Madae Island in
Kyaukpru in Arakan State on Sunday.
Government troops use military helicopters against the KIA

Government troops launched an attack on the KIA (Kachin Independence Army)with military helicopters. The attack was carried out in Pannwar Township

Just as cement businesses solidified in Thailand
over the course of two decades,
the same industry is expected to gel in
Myanmar.
LV Technology Plc (LVT), the MAI-listed engineering
consultancy and equipment
provider to the cement market, said there are 14
cement plants in Myanmar with
a combined capacity of 3.5 million tonnes per
year. Demand is 6 million tonnes.
