Myanmar sees more foreign firms bidding for projects

More international companies are submitting tenders for state projects 
on infrastructure, a business man said.

“Foreign firms [are filing] bid tenders for airports, sea ports, hotels and industrial zone projects. 
The trend may continue as other tenders are still in process,” he said,

The Karen National Union 15th Congress finished with the election of 
all the organization’s positions voted-in for the next four years administration.

Following the election of its five top leaders, together with its Central Standing Committee, 
the KNU elected General Saw Jonny, the former commander 
of the Karen National Liberation Army 7th Brigade, as its Army Chief. 
General Saw Baw Kyaw Heh, the former 5th Brigade Commander 
was elected as vice-chief-of staff (VCS) yesterday, December 24.

Couple arrested for marriage after 14 years in Mangdaw

Maungdaw, Arakan State:  A couple was arrested by Nasaka 
(Burma’s border security force) at Maungdaw north on December 21, 
over the allegation that he had married without permission 
from the concerned authority after 14 years later, according to a friend of the victim.
